5K-10K in One Day!
Alright, welcome to the video diary for Day 40 - 40% through the journey. I am 9.2 kilos down on the scales this morning. Apologies, I'm about to fall asleep, so this will not be the most excitable video diary I've ever done. So today, busy day in the morning. Then we went and got a ferry, as you'll have seen from Puerto Banus to Marbella, and then walked the whole way back to Puerto Banus. So it was like an hour and a half walk back. And then I went to the gym and as you'll have seen in the video, I was supposed to do a weights day and cardio today - I usually take my day off from weights on the weekend, but that wasn't going to be possible. We had a restaurant booking and just the day had kind of gotten away from us, so I couldn't miss a cardio day. So I got on the treadmill and then I just kept on running and I hit 10K, which is amazing. I'm at 24,000 steps, which is definitely the highest step of this journey so far by a distance. I think that's my highest amount of steps by about 6,000-7,000 steps. Yeah, I feel great. I mean, I'm shattered and I'm tired, but I feel great. And then we went out for dinner. So the only meal I had before we went for dinner was an Irish breakfast wrap, a little bit higher calorie than usual. I used back bacon instead of low-fat bacon. And then I had a couple of slices of black pudding on the side, which was delicious, but that's all I had all day.
We went for dinner and we shared a Burrata salad. And then my girlfriend pigged out with a pizza and I was very good - steak veg and potatoes. I did steal a slice for pizza, but it would've been well within my calories. Plan is - tomorrow I'm dropping my calories. So it was very much the last hurrah.
I'm going to drop to 1700 calories, but once a week I'm going to allow myself 2,200. It's just with firstly just living a normal life - 1700 calories is super low for me. I'm going to be in a bad mood probably all the time, but it's my only hope of hitting this 25 kilos. And it's always nice to push yourself into a challenge.
It's definitely not advisable. I wouldn't recommend it seeing as my calorie deficit is going to be probably 1800 calories off my maintenance, which is way too much. But I like a challenge and yeah - don't do it. So 1,700 six days a week, 2,200 once a week which allows me to go to my friend's wedding and enjoy that a little bit more. Allows me to have Christmas with my family, enjoy that a bit more. And I've done the maths on it - the difference in terms of weight by Day 100 would be half a kilo which is nothing really in the grand scheme of things.
So I'm okay if I hit 24 and a half kilos and I don't get that half kilo because of the 2,200 calories but I get to enjoy Christmas and some meals with my girlfriend and one of my best friends' weddings. I'm okay with that. So that's it.
Day 40 in the books.
